About Arashk Azizi - Classical Composer & Pianist

Arashk Azizi is a contemporary classical composer, pianist, music producer, and author. His work is deeply rooted in storytelling, with a focus on bringing ancient and modern mythology to life through music. Azizi's compositions range across various forms, including program symphonies, concert overtures, symphonic poems, and his unique creation, the Piano Poem, where the piano evokes the emotional depth and complexity of a full orchestra.

Arashk has transformed timeless stories into profound musical experiences. His first symphony, "In the Eternal Day", is a powerful reimagining of "The Conference of the Birds", capturing the spiritual journey of the soul. His second symphony, "Esfandyar", breathes new life into "The Seven Labors of Esfandiar" from the "Shahnameh", weaving a narrative of heroism and destiny. The epic "Divine Comedy" by Dante Alighieri inspired Azizi's "Divine Sonata", a three-movement piece that journeys through Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. "Haft Peykar", a romantic epic by Nizami Ganjavi, has been reinterpreted into a nine-movement string quartet, each movement reflecting the rich and intricate tales of the original work. Currently, Azizi is working on several projects, including his third symphony, based on "The Epic of Gilgamesh", one of humanity's oldest and most profound stories, a colossal project containing three classical pieces and a book called "Esfandiyar's Saga", and a piano sonata named "Koit ja Hämarik" inspired by Estonian mythology and folklore.

Influenced by a diverse array of composers, including Gustav Mahler, Igor Stravinsky, Franz Liszt, Dmitri Shostakovich, and John Adams, Azizi's music is a fusion of contemporary, late Romantic, and modern classical elements. His compositions are known for their emotional depth, innovative structures, and the ability to transport listeners into the worlds of the myths they portray.

Beyond his composing, Azizi has also authored a novel and several short stories, with more literary works in progress. He is an active music producer at Tunitemusic record label, where he collaborates with artists from around the globe, helping them bring their musical visions to life. His background in cinema and his talent for creating narrative-driven music have also led him to compose soundtracks for feature films, short films, series, and TV shows.

Arashk Azizi’s work is a testament to his belief in the transformative power of music, bridging ancient myths with modern sounds to create compositions that are both timeless and uniquely his own.

Arashk Azizi 's performance is phenomenal , he makes us wonder how a song can be so beautiful and at the same time so disturbing, that is the spark that defines his style, the way he captures his most authentic emotions is devastating, in addition, his sound environment created only with piano makes us think that he is a composer with an innate talent, his ease and his ability to make this greyish landscape of emotions emblematic will leave you stunned.

Arashk Azizi – Symphony No. 2 in C Minor, Op. 9 "Esfandiyar": I. "The Wolves" is very cinematic, dark at moment but with full bright side at other parts, like a battle that is unfolding from desperate moments to a victory dance. String parts and brass ones are so amazing, very well placed and arranged.

Variation on a Persian theme, Op. 5 "Navaei" has one of the most memorable refrains I've heard from a piano piece in a while. There is a nice and steady movement here as well. The piece at no moment feels stagnant or drawn out, the dynamics and transitions are done with ease, making this a pleasant listening experience.

I think it's been a while since I listened to the piano "Piano Sonata in c minor, Op. 2". I think I fell in love with the piano while listening. I was touched and reminded of the person I love, and I think there were many things that crossed my mind. It wasn't a fast tempo, but it felt like I was being delivered to the listeners.
